More than just a garden centre. Has a good cafe also lots of food to take home that you would not expect from a garden centre

Very nice shop,, well set out but the public toilets are often a disgrace..I have complained about them on several occasions but was told they use contractors who go in early morning..so no one checks or cleans these facilities for the entire day..for a shop of it's size & the volume of customer traffic that use them, this simply is not adequate, especially when it is hot inside & the waste bins aren't emptied.. disgusting to say the least..

A nice place to visit for a cup of coffee, lunch or a lovely scone or cake. Fine prices, nice atmosphere...just a shame the service is on the poor side. Never been impressed over several visits with the service.

Queue after queue after queue for food, and when you finally get it, pay for it and find a table... It's cold!
Would be nice if it was hot and even if they would reheat it without creating a fuss.

That said, the fish section and the guys in it are incredibly helpful and pleasant to deal with. This is NOT part of Dobbies, but a separate venture trading in Dobbies premises.
Edinburgh Wooden Mill people similarly pleasant and helpful.
Final note: no-one at Dobbies food counter to serve us. We had to go round the store to ask for assistant.
Won't hurry back unless to visit fish section or EWM.

Very good garden centre with some extras. The garden centre is well stocked and has most things that you expect from a good retailer. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The business is well run and is always tidy and organised.
There is a cafe pretty good, it's clean and comfortable. Great for folks with kids or if you just need a cuppa.
They also have a fish section that sells both fresh and marine Aquatics. Their prices are bit high but I put that down to a lack of competition in the North East of Scotland. It's a lot better since it was taken over by Maidenhead Aquatics but they still have a way to go before I'd say that they were top notch. They have some new staff that are quite knowledgeable, let's hope things keep improving as the husbandry definitely needs a bit of work.
