Stay at Lamp Post villa could be a risk to your families health as well as spoiling your well earnt vacation. They have bed bugs as we discovered when we stayed in October. Unfortunately after we left the B& B earlier than planned and searched for other reviews, we discovered that we were not the only one to be bitten by Dr Graham Joy bed bugs. I hope he's resolved the infestation. Dr Joy accused us of bringing the bugs in our luggage and refused to refund our money. There are many wonderful B& B in Bath so stay away from this one

INFESTED WITH BED BUGS - AVOID! Also refused to give a refund although there are other reviews to confirm the infestation has not been resolved. Dr Graham Joy offered no empathy or an amicable resolution. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Nice family place lovely Victoria bed in one room continental breakfast ten minutes to bath centre walking good pubs and shops in bath

A decent and well-located guest house with friendly and accommodating staff. Redeeming features perhaps, but I cannot overlook the dreadful first night we spent there before changing rooms. Two beds in the attic apartment were infested by bed bugs. The boiler complained loudly all night and I didn't get a wink of sleep. In the morning the bathroom taps stopped working entirely and I was unable to give the children a bath. Avoid.

Had the 2 bedrooms in the attic
PRO: Walking distance to centre of town (10 min max). Service was friendly, rooms were clean. Bathroom was a bit outdated but was clean as well. Quiet location, neat view from attic windows. Beds basic but comfy. Breakfast was accomodating with yogurt, cereal, juice, cheese, ham and toast.
CON: bed bugs ( Reason for 2 star), no working shower head
Unfortunately for us on our last day of our stay, I found a big fat bed bug on our bed! Apparently it takes a couple days for the body to react and discovered a total of 30 + welts on me. Luckily the bug was found in our bedroom and not the bedroom where our children slept.
I notified lampost b&b of my concerns regarding the bed bug but never received any response which I find to be very disappointing. I did not want to give this place a bad review but now feel compelled to warn unsuspecting travelers.
Travelers may want to inquire on the status of the bed bug infestation prior to booking. If they can confirm that they have eradicated the bed bugs, I believe this is a decent place to stay for a couple nights.
