As a family member of a new admission to the Janet Barnes unit I can honestly say I am overwhelmed with the support we have received. Nothing is too much trouble. We feel listened to and most of all the staff are caring, considerate and professional. Extremely capable, pro active, structured and willing to learn. I have no concerns for my loved one who is overwhelmed that staff have helped her to walk alone (something she hasn't done for over 12 months in a previous care home)Well done Hunters Moor and thank you. Long may this standard continue

The people that do the work are the rehab assistants, the management are rubbish, I have seen 3 different managers in 18 months, each one as bad as the last. The manager at the olive carter unit is the worst. They don't return phone calls or keep you up to date with any developments in your loved ones care. Communication isn't high on their agenda. They always pass the book and blame others for their mistakes.
Clients often sit around with nothing to do and have very little stimulation, new menus were recently introduced and the standard has dropped. Clients are given a 'continental' breakfast that comprises of a cold croissant and nothing else. For grown men this is not enough.
The place needs a lot of work doing as it is shabby and needs decorating. On the exterior this looks like a modern building but internally is very different. The Olive Carter Unit is the worst. It's very expensive and not very good value for money. I really cannot see where £7000 a week is going because that's what my partners care costs.
Staffing is also an issue, staff turnover is high because people don't know the level of care some clients require plus the wage isn't an incentive. They can earn more in a supermarket with less stress and better hours.
Yes, they have helped him but I feel as though the standard of care could have been better.

This the worst care home ever! I want to leave, even the staff are leaving! Please don't send your family and friends here!!! They are currently under big investigations!!!
