Has a great collection of steam engines huge and small kept in working order by dedicated volunteers who are glad to show you around and answer questions at length. They can show you several of them in action, although only on special days. On other days they can drive them with an electric motor, so you can see how the parts move--interesting in itself. Only open Wednesday and Sunday; check their web site for steam days.

Great little museum, we visited on a steaming day with a group of adults with disabilities, access was brilliant and staff were happy to help and answer questions all day. The group loved it. Word of warning though, it gets warm with the steam engines running..!

Good interesting place to visit. We visited with our kids. Staff were very friendly and gave a lot of info on the steam engines.the wonderful staff volunteer, this museum is not funded by any authority. It relies upon donations, it is absolutely free to visit though. Good to visit on live steam days where you can see everything in action .
