Good friendly pub. Reasonable beer selection, nothing wild but well kept.

nice location... that's about all it's got going for it. I was there on Saturday and had the worst burger I've eaten in years, with chips cooked in oil that was clearly too cold, so they were soggy and saturated. The bread roll was nice, I guess. Half a pint of beer and the terrible burger came to £10, there were no extras like cheese, bacon, or ketchup even. Bad, bad burger. The patty itself was gristly and tasted like one that might have come from a multipack of frozen burgers in a supermarket. It came with "coleslaw" that was chopped up so coarsely that it was difficult to eat. It also looked like it had been sitting around for hours.
Overall, if you want food, go somewhere else. If you want beer, go down the hill to the Bag O' Nails or a bit further to the Three Tuns.

Delightful, friendly and welcoming pub with a fab selection of beer and a good honest and delicious selection of home-made pub grub! Sunday lunch is my particular fave! Sunniest and most relaxing beer garden in Bristol too, I reckon!

Having been through a bad patch following a change of owners (before that it was perhaps my favourite pub in Bristol) it seems to be on the way back up again. For sure, it's right back there as a top, top real ale pub. Nice garden at the back.

Just had one of the best roasts in Bristol, sat in a beautiful garden! The roast was massive, cooked to perfection and had everything I would want on a roast.
I don't get other peoples comments on the prices, they seem cheaper than the other pubs in the area, well except spoons of course, and the beer was in good condition. Staff were friendly and helpful.
This might well become my new local!
