Brilliant place and gorgeous museum. Not quite the Glasgow museum architecture wise but still very good. If you have the chance of going there on special occasion, you might be lucky enough so they show you the hidden collection and storage areas, which contains way more items then those displayed. We also went on a night whrn they played the "night at the museum" movie in the main hall. Brilliant idea to start with however the acoustic was bad.

Had a really enjoyable afternoon looking at photos and pots. It's heartening to see a museum/ art gallery being enjoyed by so many people. Well staffed by helpful engaged people who make want to make you visit work for you. I recommend you visit. The Pre Raphaelite room is a must.

Very well maintained almost 'mini' Natural History Museum. One can sit in the main hall taking in the impressive architecture. Café good, nice place to chill.

Really nice museum. Lots of interesting bits for the kids. We especially liked the art gallery sections.

The museum had a really interesting dinosaur display when we visited. They also have some wildlife displays with stuffed creatures. Different people will have different views of the appropriateness and interest of such displays.
The cafe also serves very tasty food, although prices are relatively high. Service is very good and the area is clean and comfortable.
Entry is free and you are encouraged to make a donation reflecting you opinion of the value of your visit. These museums rely on donations and I think this one is definitely worthy of a donation on leaving.
