The main point of a hotel is to sleep well. It would be softer to sleep on the carpet than the concrete bed. Bathrooms need some additional love and care. TV channel choice is limited but ok. The rest of the room is ok, reasonable size room, clean but mould growing around windows, suitable furnished. We ordered a king size bed and got a double!
My son and daughter also stayed. We booked exactly the same room for them. my son had two single beds pushed together, my daughter had a double bed instead of king!

Lovely venue. But there was a wedding on while I was staying there, so the staff weren't showing up appropriately for the hotel customers (problems ignored when flagged up, late breakfast).

Very nice hotel in convenient location. About 20 minute walk into the centre of Bury. Lovely old building. We stayed in the 'courtyard rooms' with car parking in it's own area so easy for access. Very good breakfasts. We had one meal in the Hotel restaurant in the evening which was fine. There is a handy pub over the road for alternative dining called 'The Tollgate'.

I've been staying here fairly regularly on business with my work. The staff are second to none and will go out of their way to help you with anything. It's in a central location for the town, train centre, pubs, tesco all within 5 minute walk. For the price, it's an old charming hotel from a recognized chain it's not the Ritz nor is it priced as such. In summer it's particularly beautiful set in landscaped gardens.

Hotel and location was good. Breakfast could have been much better, lack of plates and glasses on first morning, had to ask for more but still did not arrive. Friendly helpful reception. Some very noisy and peculiar guests both nights near us so did not sleep much as we were in outside chalet style rooms with paper thin dividing walls. Would not return.
