we visited this pub last year for a birthday lunch and pre-ordered the Lobster Thermodor for the birthday girl. She received a fabulous meal prepared by the resident chef.
We enjoyed our meal so much that we decided to return this year.
Again the Lobster was pre-ordered but when we received our meals we were extremely disappointed.
The lobster was not dressed in the shell, had no sauce and was served with a few boiled new potatoes. Not the Thermodor we was expecting.
Also, the homemade Steak and Guiness Pie was ridiculously small with very little filling. The prices that were charged for these meals we feel are extremely over priced and sadly after this experience we will not be returning.
The only nice part of the experience was the friendly young waiter.

Our pub lunch group often dines here and love not only the delicious freshly cooked food but the warm welcome we always receive. One of our members always takes overseas visitors here, as it is exactly what they expect a traditional British pub to be. Certainly would recommend.

My wife and I had a very nice lunch here. Plenty of food and good value for the money. My wife isn't a big eater and they did half-portions on some of the meals which suited her. The pub itself is great and a good choice of 3 or 4 real ales.
