The wife can only eat gluten free food, so to be told without looking at a menu what she can and can't eat was great. More over when the food arrived it was fabulous, they even knocked up some g/f gravy to go with the lamb!!!!..... 10/10

Had a lovely time on the 19th october ive never known staff to be so friendly.I highly recommend going there and the food was fab.

Lovely pub, just popped in for a quick lunch. We had baguettes which were lovely and came with chips and salad. No skimping on portion size and the price was bang on compared to many other pubs. We sat outside as the weather was nice, what we saw of the inside was lovely; cosy but not cramped. The staff were very friendly. Highly recommended for a nice lunch stop, so 5/5 for that. Cant comment on evening meal service.

Very good food and friendly service. Perfect for young kids as brill play equipment in an enclosed garden on top of a pretty pub in pretty location. Everybody enjoyed themselves!

Hadn't been to the pub for years but recently went with friends and we were so impressed that we booked a family meal for my Dads 80th birthday and have been back several times since, each time fantastic food, fantastic service and the food is well worth the money! Mark and Lyndsey make you very welcome as do ALL the staff. The staff are smart, polite and helpful. You'll struggle to find a pub around Colchester as good! Honestly!
