This Premier Inn is a bit different to most other Premier Inns as the hotel is a converted stable block and the rooms look a bit like chalets from the outside. One advantage is that the rooms open straight onto the car park and there are no stairs or lifts to contend with. The rooms are fairly standard and in line with what you expect from the Premier Inn brand i.e. clean, comfortable and decent showers. There is a pub on site which we didn't visit. All in all the hotel was perfect for an overnight stay.

Have stayed here a few times and love it. Staff in the hotel are fantastic and the rooms feel like a little home from home. Not been too impressed with the pub on-site, but there is plenty of other options just along the road.

Good size room very clean. Excellent reception staff nothing too much trouble. Good food in pub next door. Would certainly use again.

, We had booked three rooms for family arriving from the States. I was going to ring or visit the hotel to make sure everything was ok with the booking, however on Monday 31st I received an email advising me that it was possible to check in online. This I did and received an email to say that we were all booked in and looked forward to welcoming us on the 2nd August.
On the 2nd my wife and I drove down to London and brought them back to Derby with a few stops on the way, secure in the knowledge that no matter what time we arrived we were all checked in. We arrived at Derby North West after 10pm, I went to the reception to collect the keys. The receptionist seemed a little shocked when I arrived as she thought everyone had checked in. Checking her system she was correct that all the rooms were booked. Explaining our booking she checked the tickets which showed that we were indeed booked to arrive that day but that morning the manager had cancelled our booking and let the rooms to other guests. On the tickets in her hand it stated that I had attempted to cancel the booking and it had been refused. I again explained that I had checked in online and had never cancelled the booking ( as you said I couldn’t) and neither received a call or email that day to ask if you could cancel the booking.
We were now in the situation of having guests with no rooms to stay, the receptionist contacted the Derby North Mallard Inn ( the one we chose not to use !! ) to check if rooms were available, fortunately there were. We then had to make our way to the Mallard where the receptionist there was very helpful and apologetic ( the first ). He set 2 rooms up for our guests and explained that I would have to pay £168 for the rooms , this was to be reimbursed but even so, I am now in a situation where I cannot get into rooms that I haven’t cancelled because the manager has resold them and making a payment for rooms at a location we did not want, we went to stay at home, as you can imagine I was not best pleased.
The manager rang the next morning explained again rather brusquely that she had the right to resell the rooms, even after I had pointed out to her that I had been informed twice that the terms of the booking did not allow this, even more, I had received an email to confirm the booking and asked to check in online which I did.
There were rooms available at Derby West the next night which was a relief as we had set up a family gathering at the Farmhouse across the road, we arrived late afternoon and received the keys for the rooms, and a good night was had, the rooms were fine.
The next morning on check out I was able to speak to the manager who had sold our reserved rooms. I wasn’t happy that she insisted she had the right to re-sell our rooms as we had tried to cancel them. I explained that the company policy would not let me cancel the rooms and as such they were mine whether occupied or not. The fact that I had checked in online after being emailed did not sway her opinion as she stated that their booking system did not show the online confirmations !. I explained that I had done everything right, I had been refused to allow cancellation of the rooms and had checked in online, I believe she had no right to resell the rooms as they had already been paid for.
I suspect that as it appeared when we arrived that there had been a function at the Mundy, rooms were required for the attendees. I’m guessing that on the morning having assumed that because I had tried to cancel that there would be a no-show the rooms could be resold at over £50 per room, plus what I had paid in the first place meant a nice profit. What she didn’t count on was us turning up to occupy the rooms.
As you can imagine I am very disappointed with the way we have been treated, I had done everything asked of me, I accepted your terms and conditions and was prepared to lose money.

Great rooms, friendly helpful staff, yummy breakfast and a bed that was like sleeping on a cloud! Great value too!
