The best eggs Benedict in town. Nice atmosphere, great down to earth service and decent coffee at not too crazy prices. A star is taken off after my last visit however - the bacon was chewy and covered with 'cheap bacon white stuff' which was a tad off-putting, while the eggs remain the best.

This place has a nice atmosphere and pleasant staff. On this occasion however the food was nothing special and some of it was too expensive. The scallops on mac and cheese was really the best thing we had but a bit over priced with two scallops and a very small bowl at £9. The soup was okay and the puy lentils and halloumi a bit bland. Not sure if we will return but others have had better experience so we will see

What's happened to Salt Cafe? This used to be, hands-down, the best place in Morningside. Now the service is appalling. Staff are now inattentive and forgetful, frequently getting orders wrong. The food is still the high quality it always was. But in terms of customer service, I'm afraid Salt has taken an inexplicable nose dive. What used to be a fantastic experience is now simply awkward.

Gone down hill since initial opening when they had an amazing menu and wonderful food. Lacks care and attention to detail in the execution now, really disappointing. Went for after work dinner a few weeks ago and was so disappointed and embarrassed for having chosen this place unfortunately. Still not too bad though for Sunday breakfast. Some nice choices on the menu.
