Disappointing 5 course tasting menu. Too many fatty overcooked dishes in the selection in our opinion. Booked a 'suite' at extra cost but all we got was a bigger bedroom. We expected a separate lounge area but alas - no. Heating was barely working as radiators were full of air and needed bleeding badly though an electric heater had been left in the room. Visited no11 last year and the experience was much better.

Warm welcome, nice and cosy room. We had dinner and breakfast which were excellent. The fillet and venison steaks were cooked to perfection, compliments to the chef. My first taste of haggis surpassed expectations. Would stay again.

For the special offer we had it was adequate. My stake hadn't been rested properly, and the salmon salad was soaked in vinegar. My partners stake was better, and both sauces were pretty good. The cops were over salted.
If we'd paid the menu price I would have been most unhappy.

Cool boutique hotel in a central location in Edinburgh. Tradional decor and old world feel but modern in amenities and comfort. Walking distance to major landmarks and good restaurants. Friendly staff.

We had the most wonderful four nights here following our wedding. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always great with lots of options. The bed was super comfortable and I wanted to take the bath home with me! Stunning room. Meal in the restaurant was great, really delicious! Thank you for a lovely stay.
