My friend and I were looking for an exercise class near our work that we could fit around our schedules. Through a quick google search, we found Tangerine 13 and the No Sweat lunchtime sessions which sounded perfect, so we decided to give it a go.
Carolyne offered a week’s free trial for us to get to know the studio and what it offered.
We went every day that week and no two days were the same.
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays were different workouts, using a variety of equiptment such as kettlebells, TRX & bodyweight exercises, whereas Tuesday lunchtimes were a yoga session, and Thursdays pilates.
Despite only being a 30 minute session, I found that I got a really good work out and my muscles were aching afterwards (in a good way!) The yoga and pilates the next day definitely helped to stretch out the aches & pains.
The studio is spacious and colourful, and you’re given your own folder to track progress and mark off your achievements.
Carolyne is a great trainer. She’s funny & motivating, and really knows what she’s talking about.
After the week, my friend and I signed up straight away and we go every day we can.
Highly recommend Tangerine 13!!

"When i first came to Tangerine 13 I wanted to complete another marathon - Carolyne advised early on that I had to combine strength training with running. The benefit of this came to the fore in the London marathon last year - I had "hit the wall" after 20 miles in the NYC marathon in 2004......But i didn't stop once when running London 2013. I'm most proud of that and the fact I passed 1100 runners in the last 7k of the race, whilst only being passed by 90 - again proving my strength was there at the end and this was down to the plyometric training that Carolyne recommended.
I suffered badly from ITBS before meeting Carolyne and the information and treatment I received meant I could run pain free during my training.
I would recommend Carolyne if you are preparing for a 10k, half or full marathon as her training methods are fantastic."

Tangerine13's a great Fitness studio. I've been a member for several years and get worked hard every week!

The best decision I have made this year is to go along to Tangerine 13, both the studio & Carolyne are unique. The studio has no mirrors, it does not matter what you look like, and no one cares if you are in the newest workout clothes. The only thing that matters is that you work hard and you do your best! Carolyne will not shout at you to do more or go faster but she will give you the ‘disappointed mother’ look if she knows you are holding back.
I have only been going for a few weeks I have not done the same set of group exercises more than once; everyone in the studio makes you feel welcome.
