Just had a amazing 4 nights at Hillside. Eleanor and Phil made us very welcome, even let me use their daughters boots as mine gave me blisters. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and the views over Skiddaw were breathtaking. The roll top bath was a welcome site after walking all day. Tea and cakes in the garden one afternoon were a wonderful surprise. The breakfasts were scrumptious with lovely eggs from their chickens. Even our dog Stella was given special treatment with sausages every morning from Eleanor. We would heartily recommend Hillside - especially for dog owners, and their knowledge about dog-friendly establishments in the area was comprehensive. We will be back.

We have just returned home after a wonderful weekend based at Hillside. The accommodation is brilliant - rooms/ensuites are furnished to a very high standard and the views from the bedrooms and the guest sitting room are wonderful ( time spent chilling by the wood burning stove - priceless, and the comfiest of beds!) Everything is complimented by the warmest friendliest welcome from Eleanor and Phil for whom nothing is too much trouble. Ask them to introduce you to the 'girls' (chickens) and the rabbits, Massive breakfast will set you up for the day and you will, like us - Mandy, Soph, Donna and Jo, be very glad to have found Hillside
