The look and the feel of the hotel was great. The room was very nice with complimentary robes and slippers, although the bathroom door was a bit difficult to close. The room service meal was also delicious. What let the stay at the hotel down for me was the breakfast....it seemed very disorganised having to queue for ages, and when seated no cutlery was on the table so had to find a member of staff to get some. There were also a few other things. The poached eggs were disappointing too. It took the shine off what was a lovely weekend.

The reception staff were very welcoming, friendly, efficient and willing to help with any request, no matter how small. Our room was superb - plenty of space, large comfy bed, beautifully furnished and very clean. Breakfast was a positive feast every morning! Hard working room service staff were also friendly and smiling, despite their heavy work load. Car parking was easily located at the rear of the hotel and fees were conveniently paid through the hotel reception.

We stayed here for family wedding. Room was clean ,2 queen size beds. Best family we have stayed in. Breakfast was good except for the bacon (tasteless )staff friendly. Swimming pool water was cold but the room hot. Pool not very big but son enjoyed it. We asked for dressing gowns which was not questioned but when we checked in our room was next to hen party so we asked for a quieter room which was done without any fuss. It would have been nice to have been asked if we wanted to up grade. Only down side is car park charges should be included in room costs .Good stay. Would stay again.

The cafe bar was nice, the breakfast good but I don't think it was worth £15 on the day. Rooms were very nice but we did upgrade as we wanted to be on the same floor as other guests in our group. Just more ways to make money, free soft drinks are included in upgrade, which were 3 cans. Thought being a spa hotel they would have a jacuzzi or sauna but they didn't. The spa treatment booked and treatment were lovely! Very professional male and female staff. Pool is a decent size for a hotel. The lunch in the bar was also very good.

I usually love staying at Mercure hotels, however this time I paid for late check out and was disturbed by varying members of staff 3 times between 9:10am and 12:45pm. First a cleaner entered our room (we forgot to lock the door) at 9:10am which woke us both up, this is nowhere near even the standard check out time of 12pm never mind the late check out of 6pm! We then had a knock on the door at 12:10, this time reception staff wanted to know if we were checking out that day........... we then had a knock on the door by a second cleaner at 12:45.

I was refunded the cost of late check out but my experience was completely ruined, if I had wanted to be disturbed I would have stayed at home with the kids or not paid for late check out.

The hotel was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The view left a lot to be desired, but not all hotels can be high rises, and the mini bar was not nearly as well stocked as a previous visit to a different Mercure left me expecting. The staff were friendly, when they were not disturbing your rest. We ordered room service and the food was well worth the tray charge, both had burgers that were of excellent quality.

I will continue to book Mercure hotels, I just probably will not revisit this one.
