Very poor service in dealing with renewals! They are very happy to steal your money!
The operator said they would price match a policy I found on a comparison website and then had the cheek to say their is a premium for a change of address... Clearly the price I found online was with the new address. Not exactly a price match. 1 hour later the premium was "waivered" though I probably spent that much in calling them!

make it very hard to stop them automatically renewing your insurance, all staff are polite (when you can get through to someone). perfect insurer apart form deliberately making it hard for you to leave them (tried to charge me a fee when I tried to tell them to let me policy expire when ringing a month before renewal) not cheap enough to make hassle worth it

After scrapping our jaded but utterly reliable 18 year old Rover car (rust had overtaken her reliability) we cancelled our policy and were charged £58.00, which on a £235 policy strikes me as a tad rich. (something that we sadly are not...)
Needless to say we will not be dealing with Hastings again.

Absolutely appalling. Not a chance of speaking to anybody on the phone. No way of cancellation of automatic renewal. Dreadful. Don't use them!!!

AVOID Worst insurance company there is! Awful customer service - Laura was rude to me over the phone!
Had a black box fitted yet it is impossibly to drive my car anywhere without receiving a warning saying my insurance will be cancelled within 7 days if I don't improve my score...
I'm a perfectly ok driver which has never had problems with any other insurer.
AVOID Worst insurance company there is! Awful customer service - Laura was rude to me over the phone!
