I would not use this broker again. I was treated badly and they refused to acknowledge or apologise for their mistakes.
I called to amend my household policy because I was going away for two months and needed cover for my valuable items while away. The cover was implemented but Turner, with the knowledge that I was abroad, wrote to my home address requesting payment of the nominal additional amount of £65. When I returned, I opened a letter from Turner stating the entire policy had been cancelled because I had not paid the invoice for the additional £65 that they had posted. The amount was very small in proportion to the policies I hold with Turner and the valuables insured.
I would have happily paid this by card over the phone had they asked.
I was available by phone or email but Turner did not call or email before cancelling my entire policy. Upon raising the issue on my return, I was met with a stubborn refusal to acknowledge any shortfall by Turner and no hint of empathy let alone apology. The response was exactly the same when I took the issue to management level.
I have been a customer for nearly ten years and was saddened to be treated this way after being such a loyal customer. I will never deal with Turner again.
