They said they could order some bed slats for us but couldn't and kept our money for ages before returning it.

Bensons for Beds have spectacularly failed to turn the schmooze and patter of the sales team and careful glitz of the store into reality. Not the Leicester store's fault- this is a company problem. With only the mattress and no frame sent on the long-awaited delivery day, the best Bensons could do was offer half-hearted apologies and tell me i wasn't alone in having problems because they were so busy. "Someone will be in touch within 48 hours" they explained. No matter that we'll be sleeping on the floor while we wait, or another day required off work. Compensation for time taken to receive and build the bed? "We can't discuss that until it's all sorted." and why? "In case anything else happens, which hopefully it won't". Oh. When pressed, it transpired that the maximum compensation is up to £50 per day for loss of earnings- if you can prove it. A tiny fraction of the profit made on my purchase. Very, very disappointing. UPDATE 1: It turned out that the mattress delivered was the wrong one- I'd not noticed in the drama of the no actual bed. UPDATE 2: 123 hours later a new delivery date is arranged- 4 weeks from the original date. UPDATE 3: A call from BfB today to apologise profusely but my order hasn't been loaded onto the van so they can't deliver today as promised. Just as well they hadn't told me they would like to deliver early so was at work. On this occasion their incompetence saved them from the incandescent fury of another day wasted for a failed delivery. Delboy and Rodney have a better track record.

A terrible experience and would not recommend to anyone
After being told my bed would be delivered from hours 12.00- 6.00 I booked the day off work to receive the delivery. At 6.00 I had received no bed and no information on what was happening or whether it was even going to turn up. So I rang the store they said it might be later than 6.00. I had to ring them to find this out so id wasted a days holiday at work. so I waited and waited until 8.15 that night to receive my bed meaning I had to sacrifice my evening plans. I explained this to customer services and they wouldn't even refund my delivery charge. instead they said they could only offer a little under half £20. This is not acceptable and disgusting. If I didn't sacrifice my evening plans as I shouldn't have had to do. I would of lost out on a days holiday for nothing.
Then to rub salt into the wounds I was told id be contacted by the store when to go and collect my own refund. So now I have to make an unnecessary trip to the store. I was told I would hear from them within a couple of days. 4 days later I am still waiting. A complete joke

I recently ordered a bed that was scheduled for delivery on Tuesday 17th December. In preparation I booked half a days annual leave to accommodate Benson for Beds very unspecific estimation for delivery. For which of 33 minutes prior to the 6-hour time gap of which you confirmed my delivery would take place. You told me it wasn’t put on the lorry. Not as mistake as it didn’t fit with your other deliveries.

I am very annoyed that you then gave me alternative delivery on Monday, 6 days after your guaranteed delivery date. For which you sent out a text message on Saturday confirming delivery on Tuesday!

Also you informed me you would call me back in an hour to discuss of which I had to chase and took 7 hours to return. I also discovered when attempting to call the number provided in the text that your warehouse is 7 miles from where I live and could easily be delivered on the same day.

Spoke to Customer Service who offered a shameful £55 discount and no movement on their own rearranged delivery date which only suited them.

Also promised a call from the Regional Director, which failed to materialise. All requested return of calls did not happen.

AVOID!
