Expensive, average food, poor service.
There are so many other places in East Dulwich, why bother?
Clearly the staff is untrained (no hello or 'have a nice day', no smile, no apologies when mistakes are made... Waited for my drinks 20 min, twice, and the place was virtually empty).
The food is average (poached egg was boiled, bagel was hard) and definitely not value for money, quantity or quality wise. (£3.50 for a regular pain au chocolat, £9.50 for ONE small egg benedict on a small toast...).
Shame, it could be a nice place but in current management it's practically a con.

Food always excellent, service always shoddy. Regarding the 'no tea top ups' in fairness to them they do state that on the menu. However, they really, really need to train their waiting staff properly- a simple smile and prompt arrival of drinks is all you need- and with a larger party you've no chance of getting all your meals at once as the kitchen staff can't seem to cope with it. My Kedgeree had no fish in it too! It's a mixed experience, but there are no real stand out eateries in ED anyway, so i'll keep giving them a chance.

Came here one chilly December morning with my parents who were visiting. We were in such a laid back mood that I think if we had more to do we would have noticed that the services is actually quiet slow, but for Sunday morning I don't mind it. With a great choice of coffee (They serve Monmouth Coffee here) and tea I was happy to sit in the giant comfy chairs for a couple of hours. It would not be where I would go if I was in a rush

Perfect little restaurant for a romantic meal on Lordship lane, only negative side is on Wednesdays they have a magician that does tricks with you, the food is served to an excellent standard! I had the seafood platter which came out and was massive, all tasted very fresh. my partner had the steak tartar. Wine was excellent, overall a very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family!

Sunday brunch is the most important meal of the week (or so I like to think), which always means my expectations are somewhat higher than normal... which might explain why my eggs florentine at Le Chandelier was fine but rather forgettable. What stands out however was the rather slow service. Now I know it's a Sunday and it can be a slow brain day but waiting ages to even get the pot of tea I ordered was a bit frustrating. However, the waiter was pleasant enough when he was reminded... and it's a nice place to visit if you're a fan of French chic, sparkly chandeliers and Louis Xv chairs.
