Probably the best pub in the Peckham Rye / Bellenden Road area (there are nicer ones in Camberwell or East Dulwich though). Nice wooden floorboards inside, and a fair amount of outdoor seating. Bitter and local lagers on tap. Service can be slow - barstaff are often more interested in chatting amongst themselves than serving customers. Indoor tables annoyingly (for a pub) get reserved on a Friday and Saturday night. Can get noisy on a Saturday with live DJ

Came here on a Saturday night. The Montpelier played good disco music with a vinyl set up! Reasonably priced drinks and a nice atmosphere.

Friendly staff, great beers and wines, and an all round fantastic vibe. Regular film nights in the back room make for a brilliant local night out. Casual atmosphere and a bit vintage chic without being up itself. The food has come on in leaps and bounds - a couple of years ago it was hit and miss but they've clearly had a word with themselves. The Monty is back on my map once again.
