Decent enough pub but the bartender with a shaved head and a beard was so rude I left after one drink.
Literally this was the interaction we had.
Me: "Hey can I have a pint of cider please"
Bardude says nothing. Pours pint then puts it in front of me. Says literally nothing. No smile, no reaction, no words.
Me: *gives bartender a 20*
Bardude slams change on bar and walks away. Literally doesn't speak a single word. Like I don't need to be your best friend buddy but I'd kind of like to know how much my drink is or...you know, that you can hear/speak etc. Or recognise a moving speaking human shape in front of you.

The staff of friendly but their understanding of English isn't quite good enough and they seem understaffed.
The Sunday roast was pretty good but not worth the 40-minute wait, we had already finished the disappointingly overpriced bottle of Rioja by the time it arrived! the braised beef is tasty but no good if you like your meat medium rare. Good portion sizes although a bit mean with the gravy the vegetables were tasty.

Really nice pub. Good heated smoking area and an upstairs section.

Great bar with a good selection of beers. Several different areas in which to sit in or stand including an outdoor area. Snacks and food available. Friendly staff, toilets could be better.
