Private (you pay) and not very big and on lots of levels, not a peach of a destination. Yes they have some of the famous pics so not a place to be avoided but not top of list either.

The main courtyard is large and impressive. Kids love to play in the water-spouts in hot weather; there's an ice-rink in winter, and events through the year, such as London Fashion week, and a season of open-air movies in summer. I saw a preview of _Volver_ there, and Penelope Cruz showed up!
