I have a lovely garden, but while I enjoyed spending time in it over the past 4 years, I often felt like an alien visiting a wonderful but foreign country. This changed once I started doing Mike’s course. It felt as he has given me the gift of language and now I was able to speak with the locals and immerse myself in the culture of the place. Everything in it seems different and fascinating now, from a smallest flower to large overbearing climbers. I am so grateful for this gift of understanding, not to mention for many practical things I’ve learned over the past seven months. Mike is at the same time inspirational, erudite, practical and modest. He is one of those amazing teachers who manage not only to teach the knowledge but also infect you with their enthusiasm and love of the subject at the same time. I would highly recommend this course to anyone.

Mike gave us garden consultancy offering advice on topics such as growing conditions, pruning, common pests and suitable plants for north and south facing beds. He is a very experienced plantsman who talked enthusiastically, drawing on his vast experience to answer all our questions with clear explanations and lots of practical tips. He also provided us with some very useful notes. A great inspiration and highly recommended.

This course has far exceeded my expectations, and I could not recommend it more highly.
I was a complete beginner in gardening and all the terminologies are (were!) Greek to me. But his clear explanations of both the 'trade' aspects and the scientific principles behind it have really helped me to learn.
During the classes, he could always answer our questions very well, and he clearly has extensive knowledge of the field.
It was great fun to learn from Mike, and I'd highly recommend this course to anyone.
