Excellent for a pre-theatre meal, as this restaurant is directly opposite The Print Room theatre (who may have some deal coupons if you're lucky). Service here was excellent, as was the food. Very well priced specials for the area.

Really nice inside, traditional pub feel to it. We went in the summer so sat outside in the courtyard and ordered oysters, good quality ,we really enjoyed them.

The place is cosy and enjoyable, but food doesn't seem to be home made and wine is way too expensive for what it is. Service was good though.
Other places nearby are a lot better value...

The second time we've had our office Xmas party at The Commander, on Friday night and three years ago. We hired the private room to the back both times, the room has a big table perfect for doing our office Xmas quiz. The room was beautifully decorated, the staff were excellent. Food was delicious, the dessert (crumble) makes my mouth water just thinking about it! Very classy place would highly recommend.

Worth every penny.
Lovely setting, friendly staff and delicious oysters. Menu is short, but very well thought out, plus they have a great selection of wines.
