Popped in here for a drink as we had half an hour to kill on a Friday evening. The staff were friendly and the pub was nice but nothing special. I don't regret going there but I won't be rushing back.

Went on a Friday night and the venue is clearly divided by Brixton's gentrification. Typical bumbling hipsters on the ground floor, posturing Rnb types on 1st floor.

It's the Dog - cheerful spot for a bit of a dance or to watch the footie on the protector. Their pizzas are nice thin crust and decent when they haven't run out. There's been a bit of staff turnover so service is slow, orders have been mixed up and they charged my mate £3 for a pint of soda water! I'll keep going for the Apples & Pears cider on tap, but hope they get the issues sorted soon.

I seriously offended a group of girls in the queue within 30 seconds before entering the club. Then I bought drinks and stared into the nightclub's glittery abyss for about an hour or two. I left and wandered down a quiet street spewing every 10 steps I took whilst crying. Never been to Brixton before but will be back.

We have ritual - North London dog walk, then visit the Dog Star on tghe way back to SW16. A great pub that I am sure is great in the evening, we've just never been there for when it kicks off. The staff are great and love the two dogs we bring in with us. We've also been @the Dogstar for the Crafty Fox Market - a great day out to support various up and coming artists.
