It was for a Christmas party and the menu was therefore limited. The quality of the food was still very good considering and they had a good selection of beers.

I booked 47 King Street West for our Christmas party and it was absolutely fantastic. There were about 35 people in total, all constantly ordering drinks and moving seats - not an easy task for waiting staff - but they handled it brilliantly. They made us feel that nothing was too much trouble and everyone had a great time. The food was also excellent. I went back in January for a cosy meal with my boyfriend on a Sunday and again couldn't fault the service or the food. There is a very personal feel to their approach and you can tell your eating in a family run restaurant but it also very high quality. Would highly recommend!

Lovely restaurant, a little snug but excellent food, service and personnel. The negative review in the press is little more than sour grapes and indicative of the class of complainer. I feel for the manager who had to cope with such unpleasant comments which were blatantly due to the complainer's inability to be punctual and behave correctly. Some people should stay within their class (common and vulgar) and eat in a greasy spoon café in the docks and not in an up market eatery. I can recommend 47 to anyone who enjoys and appreciates good food in a restaurant that delivers on its promises.
