Great facilities appalling ways the staff deal with situations stealing the rest of my freinds money the managers "Reece" very aggressive towards people he dislikes and refuses to accept to talk to people he does not like. "Saying Howdy is very disrespectful according to them" and very cocky they made me and my freind very uncomfortable by always watching us and accusing me of taking a gym bench home and throwing 20kg dumbbell at my freinds head. They give more authority to people who have been at the club longer and the people who go to the gym are very aggressive and cheeky I would not recommend this gym it is a great gym when it comes to facilities but the staff are appalling at dealing with situations and false accusations.

I have been a member at The Y Club since 2014 and I have been paying £46 a month since I joined. My partner joined the gym in 2016 and asked if there was any couple memberships and he was told there wasn't. We were speaking about costs the other day and we realised Iam paying £12 more a month than he is. I rang up to query it yesterday, I was told that when I joined I had started on a 3 month contract which is why it was more, to which I explained I wouldn't of opted for that option as I knew I would be staying in the area for a lot longer, I was then told I would of been on that contract because at that time they didn't offer 12 month contracts at the lower cost. I was also told they do offer family memeberships and me and my partner would both be saving money on it! I have never been told that the contracts were changed or that I was paying more than I should. After being with a gym for over 3 years I would of thought I would of been contacted about how much I'm over paying. After querying this yesterday I was told a manager would contact me today. I chased this up only to be told no managers are in until next Tuesday because of bank holiday, so I have to wait 5 days for anyone to look into this. I cannot believe that after hearing my frustrations that I didn't even get a courtesy call to apologise that no one would contact me about this today. I have recommended many other people to this gym, and I have spent ALOT of money on personal trainers as well, which the gym will receive commission for. I have calculated that I'm roughly £432 out of pocket.
I'm so disappointed!

A truly great gym - friendly - members and staff speak to you. Good extensive range of free classes throughout the day and some excellent team activities - badminton, volleyball, football, - as well as excellent internal clubs including wrestling, judo and running. Thoroughly recommended and good value for money.

These guys need to up their customer communication skills.
I've been a member since the start of the year, and bought an annual membership because it worked out to be half the price of a monthly direct debit. I have had to move (rented place, landlord has sold it) which means it's now a lot harder for me to get to, as I don't drive. I asked whether there was any possibility of refunding the rest of the year, but said that I appreciated it was unlikely. I was told the manager would phone me back to discuss options. I chased the gym everyday for 2 weeks, and even though various staff members said they'd action it, I heard nothing until I eventually managed to get through to the manager this morning (again, after having to phone them). She was very short and rude with me, telling me that all this was laid out in club rules, which all staff members should know and be able to tell me. So 2 weeks of chasing could've been avoided with the first conversation.
The refund bit, fine. I didn't expect anything back, but if you don't ask, you don't get. What annoyed me was the unprofessionalism of the staff and rudeness of the manager.
Won't be renewing, even when I move back to the area.
