Good campsite with sufficiently adequate and practical facilities for a campsite. We went end of September so it was relatively quiet and peaceful with only a few guests. Lucy, the owner, explained the details and offered us flexibility and autonomy about where we pitched. She provided wood for the fire. Overall we had a good experience here.
The only reason this isn't 5 stars is that it's not necessarily a picturesque remote and woodland countryside campsite (even though I acknowledge it is not advertised it that way)
Overall I recommend it as well because it's close to local towns and activities.

We've just returned home, having spent five nights here over the warmest, sunniest August bank holiday weekend I can remember.
The site is small and perfectly formed with spotlessly clean facilities, which are well thought-out in terms of how families might need to use them. For example, the showers are in fact large wet rooms, most with a toilet, which makes them ideal for herding kids in the morning.
Pitches are very generously proportioned. I'm sure it would be possible to fit 50% more tents in by using the centre of the field and while some sites wouldn't hesitate to do that, this one resists the temptation. This means there's lots of space for kids to play safely and you don't feel as though you're camping cheek-by-jowl with other families. Having cars park out of the way at the top of the field, except for loading and unloading, helps keep things quiet and safe too.
Lucy, the owner, is a dynamo. She works tirelessly to ensure everybody has what they need. She managed to accommodate our request for hook-up, even though the designated electric pitches were all taken. Thank you!

I'm glad other people have a positive experience of this site. However that wasn't our experience. No malice intended. I have been camping for over 30 years and the atmosphere of a site is very important. Maybe other people don't mind the owners abrupt manner. The site was clean and well tended but lacking in the friendly approach that I appreciate.......
Following the response from the owner I feel I must reply - The conversation about £15 has nothing to do with my review. Good value alone does not make a good camping experience. As I said I have been camping for over 30 years and this is the first time I felt compelled to write a negative review.

This is a great site. It is well kept and the terms and conditions are clear if you read them on the website.
The owner is a very enthusiastic and vivacious character that stands up for her rights when people cross the boundaries .

We stay here often and have only praise and have had good experiences at this beautiful ,well run campsite.
My experience of people leaving bad reviews is that they are saying more about themselves than their target .
This is a great site. It is well kept and the terms and conditions are clear if you read them on the website.

A truely astounding place to camp. Having been there now 4 years in a row I can say it is one of the best campsites i have had the pleasure of staying at. The facilities are excellent (both in quality of finish and quantity available) with electric hook ups and secluded camping bays. The owner is an exceptionally nice person, who has always been open and friendly. The small issues we have encountered whilst camping have been dealt with swiftly and to our great satisfaction. Will be very upset if this campsite ever shuts its doors.
