I wouldn't put my dogs in there.
Hotel years ago was respectful for the area and we'll known of being excellent.
2017 it's used by local government for emergency housing for tenants.

No real heating. No real hot water. Rooms are small and dark. Expensive for what it is. Not very clean at all

Stayed for a night on the 09/08/10 and was eaten alive . Awoke during the night to find the bed infested with bedbugs. I had 36 bites in total and managed to squash 6 of them. Hows that for a horror story, packed my bag and slept in the car. Now for the best bit, when i spoke to the owner demanding a refund he called me a liar and refused. Will be reporting to the relevant agency.

There only seem to be two staff in this hotel, neither of which speak much English or know what running a hotel involves. The bed was like sleeping on the Alps. There were half used bottles in the shower. After filling in a form about breakfast, we were asked what we'd like for breakfast. The toast turned up half an hour after the rest and the tea half an hour after that. Some fellow guests had to wait 40 minutes for any breakfast at all. The cups and cutlery were filthy. I hate to think what the kitchen in this place looks like. Be careful - they write credit card numbers, expiry dates and names in a book which is left on the front desk. What a shame - this is the only hotel in Stroud. It could be a nice, traditional hotel in a beautiful area.
