Great little restaurant. Lovely food. Staff very helpful and friendly. Nice atmosphere, great wine. Book ahead though as they get fully booked (we were lucky as managed to sneak in after a cancellation)

Lovely little place, always hearing great things about the food. Whether indoor or outdoor the seating the staff are highly attentive. The pricing is slightly more premium but as the saying goes - "you get what you pay for".

Disappointing. We have stayed at many 'pubs with rooms' and this is overpriced. Being asked another £7:50 a head for a cooked breakfast is just plain wrong. The Loft room was spacious and comfortable, but lacked certain touches you would expect. No seat in front of the mirror - clearly furnished by a man. Large bathroom, good shower, but nowhere to put soap/shampoo. Huge bath, but only enough hot water to cover the bottom. And nowhere to put the soap/shampoo . No bathrobe.
Had dinner also. The starters were excellent and set us up for the entrees. Warning bells when Kitchen Lady (wife) was offered a steak knife. Something from the Black and Decker range might have been more appropriate. Inedible, but removed form the bill to be fair. Still, left KL looking for a white pudding supper at 10:30.
Drop the price or up your game I would suggest.

Great accommodation in a beautiful location. The room was clean and modern with excellent facilities, leaf tea and filter coffee, ironing board etc. The continental breakfast (served Monday and Tuesday) had everything we needed and was a nice touch since the restaurant is closed on these days. A short walk from Minchinhampton Common, there are lots of nice walks in the area. Highly recommended.

Excellent imaginative food. When I eat out I want to be offered something I wouldn't or couldn't dream of cooking myself. I can find this here. The food is amazing. The staff are very friendly without being in your face all the time. We have always been made to feel very welcome. It's worth asking for wines chosen to complement your food. Having done so once we never fail to do this. They serve some excellent, unusual wine that really works with the food, making the flavours dance in your mouth. It's not the cheapest place but I think it is good value because the food is so special. Mathew devised an amazing elderflower and gooseberry desert last summer. My favourite flavours - and it was amazing. We go here to treat ourselves. We have really enjoyed our New Year's Eve offerings here too.
