Have only eaten at this place. Gets very busy at times. Has a good sized bar. The food has always been very good and is reasonably priced. Has a large outdoor seating area and some good views across the water. Staff always polite and helpful.

Absolutely the best carvery in Plymouth. Great selection of 4 meats and 20 Veg. Very clean and friendly. Can be very busy so book in advance.

I wouldn't recommend going to the mountbattern for food if you have young children, we got the ferry over tonight for something to eat with our 1 year old and son who's 3 next week, he got a bit bored but we soon distracted him with the phone and our 1 year old was babbling away, they weren't making too much noise at all apart from the odd shriek. After ordering food a man who worked at the bar waits until my partner has gone to the toilet and comes over and says oh could you calm your children down a customer has complained. I just said yeah sure but then felt so self conscious of them making any sound in case someone said anything, it completely ruined our meal. We were in the child friendly side too, and there were other families with kids making a similar amount of noise after we had finished. I couldn't believe it, I went there a few years ago and I thought it was lovely but I don't think we will be going back there again! The waitresses were lovely though, two ladies and they spoke to my children and made conversation and made us feel welcome. Just a shame the bar staff weren't the same. Food also wasn't that pleasant too
