Very good selection of beers (they quite often have a Dark Star beer on tap whicj is one of my favorite breweries) . nice friendly stafg

Must be five years since the last time, but still excellent. Good choice of local beers from different breweries in good condition. Good food and cosy without being too twee. Probably one of the best pubs in the Tunbridge Wells area.

The food was amazing. My starter, the cauliflower cream soup came not with croutons but a crisp onion bhaji in it. It was honestly one of the nicest things I have ever eaten. Followed with a medium rare rump steak cooked to perfection. Dark brown with a firm texture on top but soft and pink in the middle. The chips that came with it were exactly that, chips, crisp golden and the size of my fingers, none of those flimsy fries. I washed that down with two American Pale Ales (The IPA was a bit on the strong side as it should be) from the Long Man brewery which I was told is local. The beer had a creamy start a bit like a best bitter but with a bitter hop finish which I thought was great. If you are down this way try it out. It looked really busy as the late afternoon gave way to early evening on the Saturday so may be best to book.
