Service quite quick. Had large mixes grill. Big portion sizes and good ingredients. Decent pub grub. It's not fine dining. Happy to recommend.

Good food nice beer and good ambience but don't go for a meal on race day or Saturday lunch gets very roudy

It's a nice place during the week, but completely transforms on Wednesday night for the legendary 'pound a pint', which is pretty self explanatory. It gets very busy, but has a great atmosphere.

You can't advertise it's open till 2am and then close at 12am on a Friday night. Very disappointed. York in general was a rubbish night out, everywhere closed at 11pm with no taxi ranks anywhere!
I would not recommend York for any night out! Never mind Yates!
