I have visited this practice several times, most recently in the last week, for both strapping of my lower leg (due to calf injury, the strapping was amazing by the way!) and for fitting of bespoke orthotics to support joint pain in my foot. The service is always professional and caring, the podiatrists take a genuine care to ensure their patients needs are understood and responded to. I was interested and somewhat alarmed by the ferocity of the comment regarding re-treatment for ingrowing toenails on here, since patients will be made aware that this can be a problem that may require follow up visits. I know this despite not being in this line of work, as it’s such a common issue...My husband suffered with these and also regularly attends the centre for treatment. As a runner he needs to keep on top of his foot issues, and the team at both Selby and York have been excellent.

I visited Jorvik Podiatry with an ingrown toenail which I was struggling to function with at work as it was causing me so much pain. Within 24 hours I was offered emergency surgery where part of the toenail was removed and was told by the podiatrist that there was a possibility that the nail may need to be operated on further to remove more nail if it still bothered me; I signed a form to give permission for the surgery and to say I was aware that it may not be successful the first time around. The surgery seemed to offer me some relief, but a few weeks later my toenail started to cause me problems again, and as soon as I contacted the surgery the podiatrist fitted me straight in a couple of days later and this solved the problem instantly as a stronger chemical was used to kill part of the toenail that was making it almost unbearable to walk.
I was absolutely delighted with the level of care I received and the podiatrist went above and beyond. Also, the aftercare I received was second-to-none and I was told exactly how to deal with my bandaged foot, and was given plenty of spare dressings, plasters, wipes, rubber gloves, etc.
I am so pleased that I contacted Jorvik Podiatry, as my toenail has not bothered me since, and I know that if I had any more troubles with my feet, I would 100% go back Jorvik Podiatry.

This one star is very generous!
My wife had both ingrowing toes operated on , 9 weeks ago and has now been told she has to have them redone , due to nail being left in which was ment to have been removed! This was both toes with the same problem! Coincidence that the contract with the NHS has been terminated! A butcher could have done a better job ! Wish I could upload a picture of what they class as acceptable.

This is not a review of any treatment undertaken at the clinic, this is an observation regarding communication when dealing with potential clients. I telephoned the practice yesterday - a lady answered with no 'good morning' or similar - just silence when I enquired if any appointments were available. I assume she checked the book before replying curtly that the next appointment was for four days later. That was it. Having worked in health care for many years, I was not impressed with this person's telephone manner.
I was seen at a different clinic later in the day after speaking to an efficient and pleasant receptionist.
