upon arrival Chris welcomed us with friendliness and this a theme that prevailed throughout our stay with all the staff contributing to a pleasant environment, at whatever time of day. The hotel is part of Best Western chain but doesn't feel like its bigger business orientated cousins, the appearance is more of a home with plush carpets and leather seating in reception and a similar feel to our room (no 21, above the pool, at the rear) with comfort as the main guide, it could be said that the hotel is tired, I would argue that this makes it feel more real as a home from home. The breakfast provided was prepared well and served promptly by a friendly chef & crew, the evening restaurant menu is limited but what was offered was excellent in different options (fish & meat) and sufficient after a long day in York. The bar area is also small but this makes it intimate rather than being sat in a big noisy room. Overall Chris & his staff are very good and deserve praise for making our stay so good.

Friendly staff. Lovely hotel. Plenty of space in our bedroom. Good choice at breakfast. Dinner menu not to our liking. Ten minute walk to city centre. Very peaceful . Would book again.

I have just enjoyed a wonderful and extremely pleasant stay at the Best Western Kilima Hotel. All staff were friendly, helpful, polite and professional. The food was very nice, and well presented. I recommend this Hotel as an ideal location from which to explore the wonderful City of York.

Cosy little hotel. Family room was well equipped, parents had a four poster bed, children a completely separate room. Single bathroom with shower tub. Indoor pool was nice, breakfast was outstanding. About 20-30 minute walk to the old city
