Excellent service, professional staff, minor incident involving a stray pigeon swiftly resolved with an upgrade to the fantastic suite. The bed in room 3 really was the business. Super comfy !

Good location, limited parking but did not have problem finding a space.
Room clean but in need of updating. Several broken floor tiles in bathroom, stained carpets and leaking taps.
Good size bed and comfy.
Booked deluxe room, but was in my opinion more standard.
Had breakfast on two mornings, very poor quality, uncooked food and buffet not replenished, did complain to duty manager and food was removed from bill.
Staff very pleasant.

A great place to stay, to relax over a good meal, at the bar. For parties, business meetings, larger social events, there is not detail left to chance. You can walk into York easily, or take a bus, or a taxi. Not many hotels combine old world charm (and sledge hammer character) with hyper up-to-date ideas. Staff great. I had absolutely zero complaints.

Absolutely fabulous. Very peaceful, very, very comfortable bed, huge bathroom, and very luxurious furniture. Even similar to a four poster bed. Staff very polite courteous and helpful and very high standard of food and meal presentation. Altogether a very pleasant experience. Thank you.

Hotel is a great location and parking on site is a great asset. Apparently our room was an upgraded room. We did have the four poster bed. This was very high to get into and my wife and I did not sleep at all well on this mattress. My wife did mention this upon checking out and was told the last people to stay there said they slept well!!! Stairs leading down to bathroom could easily be a hazard. Room very small. I don't think this room is an upgrade at all. Room 2. Breakfast was very good and staff polite. We will not be booking this hotel again.
