Best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Service is a little slow but the wine and food is so good it doesn't matter. Excellent freshly made pasta. Every time I go I am surprised and delighted.

Great meal. Unhurried, good service, lovely pasta and truffles, good suckling pig though not your normal version. This was a regional (Tuscan?) variation, not crispy but rolled round a sage infused stuffing. More flavour and darker than the usual sp thing. Went well with the Nebbiolo by the glass. Nice and varied cheese plate with the negroamaro to end. Would be back in a heartbeat. Or a chomp. The wine list is the best I have seen outside Italy. Not ridiculously priced either. Good ambience upstairs too.

There is not an italian restaurant for miles around that compares with Le Langhe. We have eaten here several times as the food is consistently brilliant especially the tasting menu and their homemade pasta dishes.
The service is impeccable and the wine menu extensive with a lot of the wines coming from the Le Langhe region in Italy.
Highly recommended

My experience:
Appointment cancelled 2 hours before we are due to go. "Something has happened". I hoped for a follow up phone call at least but nothing was forthcoming. I phoned just now and asked to speak to the manager. I was told " You can't speak to the manager unless you tell me what is your name and where you are from" I told the person my name and where I was phoning from. She then said "We don't have a manager, we have a boss, an owner". I asked if I could speak to the owner. "He's not here". I asked "What is his name?" and was told "I am not allowed to tell you." I asked when I might speak to I'm and was told "In the New Year". asked "Why not before then?" and was told "He's too busy". "Too busy to talk to customers?" and was told "Yes". the reason, that my booking was cancelled, I was told, was that the restaurant "Was burgled". My booking was for 8.00. The cancellation call was made at 6.00. Am I being cynical in doubting the whole thing. The attitude of he persona I spoke to was very much "Take it or leave it". I shall go nowhere near the place and if anyone else makes a reservation, be aware that customer service is not high on their list of priorities at least in my experience.

How amazing - I have spent the last 2 years touring Italy at every opportunity. Only to really discover that Otto at Le Langhe is doing a truly great job in bring a true Italian experience to the very heart of York. Such a diverse business run by a very tight team I don't quite know how they pull it off. The fresh pasta they serve in out of this world. Pumpkin & Goats Cheese pasta - I assure you - you've never tasted better. Every aspect of the cooking is authentic and exciting. The range of Wines caters for ever taste, at a superb level of quality and affordability. Also, be sure to visit the Deli, everything you could wish for and as good as anything you will experience in Italy. Well done also to Otto & the team on entry to the 2015 Michelin Guide with their Bib Gourmand! A great achievement.
