Second visit, this time with the wife and dogs. Pleased to find this pub welcomes both! Great steaks with all the trimmings in their £19.95 for 2 special. Excellent gins from the bar and waiting staff. Will be back but might leave the wife at home next time as she isn't good around other peoples wives. She gets nervous after a bad experience with another wife in a Toby Carvery in 1997!!

The food and place were great. Would happily go back for them. However, we waited two hours for food as the kitchen was short staffed and they'd stopped taking orders. Drinks service was also a bit slow. Toilets also need far more attention than they are currently given...

Well run, good selection in a relaxed atmosphere. Good rear garden with a good selection of children's climbing frames well away from the seating area. Would return

A favorite outer York restaurant, fantastically presented and prepared food with generous portions and seasonable offering. The chef is very hospitable to dietary requirements beyond those provided for on the menu.
