Lived in York my whole life and have always been a frequent peruser of Banana Warehouse next door, but never realised this treasure trove existed till yesterday. Excellent service (the owner was very helpful when he heard that I was looking for old photographs from the 70s) and a fair price too. Will return!

Great shop, fabulous service. I bought an antique iron from the shop on Saturday at a very reasonable price. Due to its age it was pretty rusty and the owner offered to clean it up there and then for no charge. I collected it later in the day and it looked great. There's a huge range of items and it's always an interesting place to visit.

Had a very interesting conversation with the owner who makes fantastic sculptures that are truly unique and are sold for reasonable prices. One of the most interesting shops in York and I never even knew it was here until two days ago and I've lived here for 15 years. Curios and everyday useful items rub shoulders. Some fantastically creepy creations as well.. just ask to see the "scary room"... Very friendly service.. he clearly knows what he's talking about and can help you find nearly anything you might want. Truly a cave of wonders. James Lee

After living in York for a number of years I discovered this gem of a shop on Saturday! It was such a thrilling and exciting experience and I can't compliment the fantastic owner enough for his time and help, going the extra mile to help me find the picture frames I was after. A quick tour of his workshop demonstrated what a fantastic craftsman he was too! I will definitely be heading back and telling all my friends. Vintage and antique furnishings, curios, quality fine art.. the list of exciting things to see and purchase reasonably are truly endless. I highly recommend a visit, I know i will be heading back to furnish my new home!
