My two toddlers and I had a blast. We saw the aquarium and they loved watching the fish and sharks swim, we went to the gardens and explored the kid's garden, played with and watched the model trains, and saw huge spiders and an ant colony in the bugarium.

Decent place to spend a day with friends and family. We bought the combo tickets, which give us access to the zoo, botanic garden, aquarium and train ride connecting the parks. We spent four hours there and had a lot of fun. You have to see the Leafcutter ants inside the Bugarium in the botanic garden, amazing creature! We went during the first week of November and the fall leaves along the train ride were peaking yellow and red, really beautiful. Oh, the train runs really slow and biker riders kept passing us. From the zoo to aquarium/botanic garden (1.2 miles), it took half an hour because of an extra U turn. On the way back, it took 20 minutes. But since the train is included in the combo tickets and saves us an hour of walking, I have no complaints.

The gardens are beautiful and have events going on regularly. The new bugarium is awesome for the kiddos- full of lots of creepy crawlies. There's also a farm with animals that kids will love. Bring some grapes and the ducks and geese will let you feed them. There are trails in the cottonwood forest at the very back; you can spend all day here if you're prepared to walk.

Really lovely design, several different areas presenting various types of gardens and agriculture. Well maintained and helpful staff. Lots of areas for kids (especially the Bugarium) but also some good remoter spots for some peach and quiet. Great place to wander around and relax.

The view of the fish tank is awesome but the service is not what it used to be. As in there is no service. You order at the bar and sit down and they bring food to you. You get your own drinks. This is fine except they ask for the tip up front when you pay. A sneaky way to get 15% more out of your wallet before you understand the system.
