And again a marvelous evening at Monica's.
Superb food and great music. This time was the music by John White. A real good smood voice. We realy enjoyd it.!!!

I finally took the time to stop in at Monica’s El Portal during a recent trip to Albuquerque. I’ve been driving past it on Rio Grande Blvd NW for years, so I’m pleased to report that the stop was well worth it. I was in a hurry, so ordered breakfast burritos to go and enjoyed excellent coffee and sopapillas while waiting. The homemade tortillas elevated the burritos and ensure a return visit by me for lunch or dinner in the near future. A nice, relaxed atmosphere and attentive service were much appreciated during my hectic morning. Whether visiting Old Town, staying in one of the hotels close by or running errands like me, Monica’s El Portal is worth a stop.

Get the "Christmas" enchiladas! Their red and green chili sauces (more like a hash) are wonderful. Also loved the taquitos. Sangria is not to be missed.

One of my favorite places to eat in New Mexico. The service is always wonderful! Their food is DELICIOUS and quite a bargain. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
