I love Kumquat Mae! The vegetarian selections are just lovely. My only disappointment is that they no longer offer wine.....

I had the chicken and waffles. Waiter was very friendly and helpful. However, the waffle maker was broken, and we weren't told until the food was nearly ready. The chicken and pancakes were still delicious, though.

Cute and very friendly. I got the eggs Benedict, and the eggs weren't runny like they should be, but it was still tasty. Everything else we got was great. The pancakes were fluffy, and the omelets were stuffed full with really fresh veggies and tasty cheeses and meats.

I love this place. The food is great, and the staff is great! I've had them host a bridal shower and a gender reveal party. They are so helpful and take initiative with planning!

Summary: Cozy, welcoming environment with delicious food. The service is lacking and the kitchen is painfully slow.
Atmosphere: 5/5 The building itself is very unique and quaint from the outside. The parking lot could use a little work. The decor inside is inviting and cozy, with cute signs and string lights. There is some outdoor seating, about 8 or 9 tables inside, and a large bar area. I also saw stairs which I assume led to an upstairs area, but I'm not sure.
Food: 5/5 Delicious. I ate the breakfast plate with 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, and 2 pancakes with warm maple syrup. The eggs - though not cooked the way I ordered them - were delicious. The bacon was crispy and flavorful. The real star of the show were the pancakes - absolutely amazing. They were fluffy and moist with a very unique flavor. I couldn't get enough, but I was too full to finish. The person I was with ate their tofu scramble and grits. Also very delicious and we both left full.
Service: 2/5 The restaurant didn't seem very crowded, since we found a table to sit at quickly, but the service was painfully slow and extremely disorganized. It seemed that there was one lady who knew exactly what was going on and she was trying to lead the rest of the staff. Our order was taken promptly, but we ended up waiting almost 40 minutes for our food, and I could witness other customers getting irritated with the service as well. In addition, my tea was initially brought out without a mug and two different servers assured me they would bring one out, but since the teapot didn't have a lid, my tea was lukewarm by the time I got my mug. When we finally got our food, my eggs were not cooked the way I requested, but I was too hungry to care. I could tell that the wait-staff cared - they just weren't equipped to handle the job.
