Called for an emergency half an hour before close. I was told to wait a moment on the phone and was put on hold, then the girl hung up on me. Every time I tried to call back I got a machine. I’m sitting here very upset and worried about my puppy and got shut out by the “emergency” vet with no explanation. Irresponsible and cold hearted.

This place has really gone down hill. How does a dog with abrasions on their back leg with hip dysplasia equal a UTI? Second time bringing my dog here this time with involuntary back leg movements and Dr. Moore was extremely rude a dismissive to what information I provided her. I actually had to bring my cat in the night before, and she was extremely helpful, so not really sure why she suddenly in a 24 hour period became so rude. When someone is loyal paying customer and trusts an establishment to diagnose their animals why be rude? In addition, I could hear the tech and her laughing, giggling, and whispering high school much?outside the patient room I was in when it was clear she had offended me with her disrespectful behavior to the info I was giving her. Save your money and go to the vet school for after hour emergencies. Never again.

My dog Bella became very sick, very quick and was seen by Dr. Prichard and her staff at Athens Animal Emergency Hospital. We were seen right away and diagnostics confirmed that Bella would need surgery or be put to sleep. Dr. Prichard and her staff were very understanding and compassionate while I made my decision. While I felt no pressure to pursue surgery, I decided to give it a go. They were respectful of my financial situation and my connection to Bella and did not recommend or charge for unnecessary procedures. While the cost of the surgery and treatment wasn't cheap, I didn't think it was unreasonably expensive for the care Bella received. Dr. Prichard followed up twice with my regular veterinarian to check on Bella's status post-surgery. I'm thankful for the bedside manner I received and the care Bella received during a traumatic experience.

They prevented my older terrier from suffering emotional trauma as well as efficiently treating her wound. Just a few weeks before her visit to Animal Emergency Hospital, my dog was attacked by another dog on a Sunday and I rushed her to the huge new teaching veterinary hospital. They did great work on her physical body, but subjected her to hours of unnecessary anxiety due to their myopic rules. When she tore off a big flap of skin in a late night accident, I took her to Animal Emergency Hospital on Atlanta Hwy instead. They let me wait with her to keep her calm. They treated her gently and had the foresight to send home pain medication. She was curious instead of terrified as she received care for her total well-being. They also treated me like a human being, and the dog and I are both recovering more easily this time. I'm so grateful to the thoughtful staff at Animal Emergency Hospital and recommend them.

Took my cat there for treatment of possible urinary tract infection. It was Sunday afternoon and they saw my cat right away and were just wonderful with her. The fees were reasonable, in fact they are one of the least expensive emergency vets in town. Got medications and was out the door in less than an hour. My cat is recovering nicely. Thanks for being there for the pets and companion animals of Athens. I highly recommend this animal hospital.
