I live close to Atlantic City. I've been going to the Borgata since it opened. I've also been going to the Metropolitan, Amphora and other restaurants there. There have been several problems at the Metropolitan for quite a while now but I have always thought things might get better---they aren't.
There is one hostess in particular who is VERY NASTY--Anna. She has been there a while. She doesn't pay attention to what card you have. She lets high card customers wait longer than the other line. She won't listen to a seating request. My family doesn't like sitting in the back where it is cold--she doesn't care. Even if you are talking to her telling her where you would like to sit--she will just walk AWAY while you are still talking to wherever she wants and expect you to follow her! When you follow her and tell her you don't want to sit where she took you she gets SNOTTY AND NASTY!! That takes you by surprise when it first happens but you get used to her combative attitude if you have had to deal with her before. I'm pretty tired of her nasty attitude now though. She also has one waiter who seems to side with her and when she is in a combative scenario with a customer--you soon see her talking to this waiter and then HE will give you dirty looks! Really disgusting! I'm sure she doesn't tell him what the customer asked for. About the food: I've asked for "medium" cooked steaks--they have come "rare" and WAY overcooked. Why can't the cook figure that out? The menu has been the same for SO long. I think they should change/add a few things. The price is sort of O.K. I don't know if it is the boss of the Metropolitan that doesn't care about anything or what but somebody should consider an overhaul of the place and definitely employee evaluations. Maybe they should place a piece of paper on each table for the customer to fill out to rate the food and SERVICE!!!

I've been eating at the Metropolitan for many years. I was there two days ago for breakfast. Our waiter was very nice, he even gave us coffees to go when we left. The food was good. But it is very expensive for what you get. My breakfast was about $25! It makes the buffet seem like a much better option. It also always takes forever to get your food here. But it's clean and nice inside.

Staying at the borgata with the family we went there to have diner. Our 15 MO baby needed to be fed. We came with her pooch of organic food . Just to have it put in a plate was a story by itself. The waiter was worried like we had done something wrong. When entering the place we asked to be seated in a booth,since it is easier to handle the baby. With no explanations the manager said no. She wanted to seat us next to the door which is quite noisy. We eventually got to seat farther in the restaurant, in a quieter area. When we asked the waiter to heat up the baby food he said no, that we weren't allowed to bring in food from the outside. Non-sens. It is baby food. She can not eat what's on the menu. It's not like she is competing with their business by eating her food there . He then suggested to call the manager. We greed. She was stubborn and refused to understand that we could not feed the baby with cold food and that it only required 30 seconds in a microwave. Fed up we left with our hungry baby. Silly way of managing a place. Bad business.

Staff and manager are not friendly at all. When pre-ordering, made me wait inside, and didn't let me use my promo. (There goes $$$tip I had for them) Buffet is way better at Borgata and the staff there.
On top of that had to wait for manager to come out, and took way more than promised to get the food ready.
Been going there for years --not anymore!

Have been going to the Borgata since it opened in 2003. The Metropolitan has always been our place to dine; the experience and the food has routinely been excellent.

On 11/13 we arrived for dinner at 6pm. My wife ordered a well done burger. As we watched customers who arrived after us get their food, two waiters assured us our food was on its way explaining the well done burger takes a little longer to prepare. We understood that for the most part but 20 minutes seemed a little longer than usual.

When the burger arrived the inside was raw! We immediately summoned the waiter and requested the manager. After waiting that long we were shocked a these developments and decided to go elsewhere.

The manager did eventually arrive and both her and the waiter agreed the burger was raw inside after viewing it. I was also surprised their was no concession made on our behalf as the manager watched us leave the restaurant.
