I really hate to see it close. But for the last several years the place has went down so bad. All of us that use to go all the time most have stopped. I hate to say it but when drugs came in and the music changed us normal non drug taken folks only went ever now and then. So sad what drugs have done to so many people. I pray there eyes open one day and they remember what is more important. Goodbye Bullet..

The "Bullet" as its been called for 25years will be no more after the weekend of August 4th &5th 2017. It has been sold. This weekend is your last chance to see a house band, and I take pride that I'll be there (at the last house job in town) til the bitter end. After this weekend a while economy and way of life that still remains in the shadows, mostly within a mile radius in South Augusta. The Safari, Horne's motor lodge,Carriage house, The Honky Tonk..the biggest for a time, too many over the years to mention. I wanted to play 6 nights a week like we did for so long. You could make a living but the pay for musicians hasn't gone up in 25 years and one by one the days got taken away. First Monday and Tuesday, then Wednesday then you only had the weekends. My band used to call the folks who only did Friday and Saturday "weekend warriors". Then it was us. Then it got to the point that we were the last club with a house band, now it's all gone. Those who may know me know that I'll be somewhere, probably right in South Augusta, if I have to busk, so be it. Look for me my friends, my supporters, my family. I will never forget you. Don't forget me. I'm older, but I'm wiser too. I can still tear it up. I will. Somewhere.
