Awesome place. Bought several items at the gift shop, so got to go through the wax museum for free!! The guy working there was super nice, and gave me info on a cool event he thought I would enjoy while in Austin. Will stop by again!!

This is such a fun little museum and the shop has a lot of cool stuff. Don't let its size fool you. It winds around in that tiny building. Lots of cool life size figures and monster movie history. Highly recommend!

What a neat little place that I have walked by so many times before..
This is a nice little niche hall of honor to classic horror movies and a little something you can do to support local businesses while getting out of the heat.
I enjoyed going back to my childhood with the classic horror films that they document here in figures and factoids; back when the story telling and anticipation of the creatures weighed heavier than "special effects" and shock value that today's current movies strive for.
I like the fact that they also work with the partners at the Museum of the Weird in Austin. So if you buy a ticket here, you have a week to use a discounted one at the other location (Museum of the Weird) and save some money.
They also have a nice small selection of "Keep Austin Weird" shirts, and other local things that are known around town. They also have some rare comic books for sale... so you can get quite a few things if you are interested.
Simple fun and probably an easy "to do" thing to mark off your Austin list when visiting.

First of all, this place smelled horrible, like piss. You can smell it before you enter but the smell just gets worse as you go in. Once you enter it's extremely crowded but the gift shop itself was the best out of this horrid experience. There was one person there and he was friendly and provided the best customer service. He had convinced me and my 6 friends to purchase tickets for the wax museum. We decided to purchase these tickets which totaled up to be $48. As we proceeded to the "museum," we walked and the smell fumigated us the hell out of there. It literally took Is less than a minute to walk through the hall way. This "museum" should charge its customers $2 per person. It was a waste of money, so if you have a big group let one of your friends check it out instead of wasting your money on a walk of shame. We were all so mad about this experience.
