My biggest mistake was leaving my old insurance company, my agent pretended to be looking for a cheaper insurance for me after been with foremost for many years. Here comes Hurricane Harvey my property suffer a moderate damage . An adjuster came and after 30 days a claim examiner call me with some stupid explanation about how the wind from the hurricane travels and they end denying my claim here I'm stuck fixing the damage course by the Harvey and a new roof from my pocket.
The CLAIM examiner ( xxxxx JOE) was a complete fraud and a liar. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY RUN FROM THIS COMPANY THEY ARE NOT CREDIBLE

Do a thorough review prior to obtaining insurance. This company is unethical, un professional and will try at every cost to deny a claim. Even when in black & White, save your self time and energy and find a better company.

The Texas Fair Plan Association is not an Insurance Company. It is an insurance Market Place set up for homeowners who can not obtain home insurance through the traditional market place and have been turned down by 3 or more insurers due to an excessive claims history, poor credit or for high risk areas that traditional markets avoid. It does not offer Hurricane Insurance (Wind Driven Rain), Named Storm Coverage nor Earthquake coverage, Coverage obtained through the Texas Fair Plan should not be considered comprehensive and should be utilized only for basic coverage needs as a last resort.

Home Owners who also need Windstorm coverage and can not find it in the traditional market place can contact the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA).

Homeowners eligibility requires that you have been turned down by 3 or more insurers. Eligibility is only for 2 year intervals, meaning the homeowner must re-qualify for eligibility and submit a new application if coverage is still not available to you through the traditional market place after that 3 years.

Had a leak in my roof cause water to begin dripping in my kitchen above the stove and microwave. Called TFP to make a claim and they keep arguing that the leak is probably from leaking pipes even though the leak only happens when it rains. The roofer they sent stated that their was water leaking down a rafter to the kitchen area but the roof damage was due to deterioration and not storm damage. I had my own roofer take a look and was told their was storm damage to shingles spread over the roof. TFP then sent out a 2nd roofer on their behalf and he stated that he found no evidence of water leaking in from the roof and assumed it must be the pipes. A plumber determined their was no leak and they still deny that the roof is leaking.

I have gotten 2 different excuses from the roofers they sent out that contradict one another. TFP seems to want to deny this issue until I give up while every time it storms the leak continues and making the problem worse.

What is the point of paying for insurance with this company if they refuse to help fix the situation?

If I could give a rating lower than 1 star I would. Don't waste your money on these thieves. We switched from State Farm to Texas Fair Plan the biggest mistake we could have ever done. My ceiling collapsed in my house damaging my laptop, TV and a vinyl cutter along with some misc. items. They considered it a wall collapse despite the majority of the ceiling falling on my belongings and no damage to any walls. Their service sucks and all of their representatives are extremely rude. Dropped them like a bad habit and went back to State Farm.
