My family has been going to Las Palomas for over 24 years now and it is never a disappointment! If you know what actual Interior Mexican food should taste like, then this is the place for you! From what we can tell, most of the negative reviews are from people expecting a more Tex-Mex style restaurant, but this is something better for those who have superb taste and enjoy an authentic meal that stays true to the culture. It is a family owned business with the most amazing people, and we enjoy going to an establishment where everyone greets us with smiles and excitement. This is a lovely restaurant. Try it out if you like a unique experience, and bring your friends because it’s a perfect place to socialize and enjoy a lovely meal with the people you love!

I've been to Las Palomas many times and always have a good meal. The cochinita pibil (shredded pork) is very good.

Attractive restaurant, good service, texmex food. Food is not greasy. It is not possible to call this an authentic Mexican restaurant. They use several American dairy ingredients such as American cheese and sour cream. Plates reheated in a microwave oven. Their flan had a refrigerator flavor. 😑

Honestly, for my money, this is my favorite restaurant in the Austin area. Make sure to get the empenadas (sp?)!
