This clinic is so very kind and supportive. We just moved to the city and my sweet baby girl of 14 years got sick. I brought her in and unfortunately she was not going to get better and I had to make the hardest decision of my life. They told me to take my time and we stayed there for at least 5 hours if not more. We had never been there and had never spent any significant amount of money there but they still treated us like old friends. There was no rush, just patience and kindness as they explained over and over again that I was making the right choice because I had to keep asking. They helped me figure out my financial situation and even suggested looking into third party crematory services instead of shoving theirs down my throat or being upset about not using theirs. They were so sweet and gentle with my dog, letting her take her time to get up and were not forceful or trying to drag her out when she was reluctant to get up. They let me take her on one last walk and even made a suggestion as to where to go. I noticed it was getting busy at one point but they never made us feel rushed at any time at all and were always right there when we needed them for any reason as if we were the only ones there. They gave us blankets to lay on so we could snuggle for the last time and lots of treats and tissues. I don't remember the name of the tech that helped us because I was very emotional but she even clipped some of my baby's hair for me to take home. They were all so nice and reassuring and loving and made our last moments together very comfortable and sweet. We were so fortunate to end up in such good hands in a last minute crisis situation since I hadn't had time to research vets and was more/less at the mercy of whoever was open at the time. I will definitely be using them as my other dogs regular vet and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet that will have their pet's best interest at heart 💖

I'm new to the area with a new dog from a shelter that I'm still working on training and this weekend my dog was having some problems and this was the only vet I could get her to. They were amazing. My dog still has some issues with strangers, especially men, and new places so she was barking and growling a lot but they were all so understanding and great with her. I will definitely go back!

Utterly fantastic. My dog was bitten by a loose dog on our evening walk, and the staff at AVC was so comforting and professional. The woman at the front desk helped calm me down upon arrival and explained how the visit would go. The vet tech was calm and gentle with my scared dog, and the Dr explained exactly what they were going to do, along with alternate plans in the event they were needed. Although I hope I'll never have to go there again, they will be my go-to for any pet-related emergencies in the future.

Friendly people. But their push to maximize sales made me frustrated with how they cared for my elderly cat. No, she doesn't like to take medicine. No, she hates going to the vet so I don't want to make weekly visits. Okay, if you must, do that extra $300 blood test. Then all it will show is that she's elderly and she might have a bit of hypothyroidism, which is common in old cats anyway. I'd brought her in for her shots & kept telling them I didn't want to stress her out with any extra thing, but they kept coming up with more ways for me to spend $.

I had a really agitating experience here. After a fairly lengthy wait, the vet looks at my dog (had a fairly small cut in his ear) then refused to do anything about it without sedating my dog. It was minor, just wanted to have it cleaned and looked at. He wasn't growling, barking, nipping. Then he told me he probably has a systemic infection because his gums were a little red. He wrapped the exam up with him also having a heart murmur. We were looking at a $300 visit so I refused treatment. The front desk took my card. I left. Took my dog to his regular vet. They put a little muzzle on him, cleaned the ear. Said the guns were probably high blood pressure. Thorough check up just in case. No heart murmur. I get a call today with the threat of collections if I don't pay them. Mind you I gave them my card number already. Very stressful and completely ineffective veterinary care. Won't go back.
