I love the old Hollywood charm of this place! Such an intimate venue with tons of charm and character. Such an integral piece of Boise's vibe!

I'd have to stop at 4 stars because they are missing a few things. I've been to events held there and some didn't have the food/drink area open and one did but it was cash only.

Also, some events had different pricing for different seating options but their website doesn't include any photos that give you enough of an idea of just where you might land when you get there. The seating is all first come first sit and that can be a real bummer if you want front row. That means you have to stand in line at the door and be there early enough for a show that's not even going to start in a few hours and forget drinks if you're planning on going alone because there's no way to save that coveted seat.

I'm not saying the whole thing needs assigned seating but it would sure be nice to know you're not paying for floor seats only to be at the back and have front row peeps above you with a better view and smaller price point.

This theater is absoulty the coolest building in downtown Boise. It has an old spirit with a new hip feel. Walking in the front doors you can't help but feel transferred back in time to a lavish theatre with exceptional detail.
The staff is amazing, friendly and helpful they add to the whole experience.
The manager Destiny is one of a kind, laid back, easy to talk to and extremely fun while upholding her professionalism.
This is a gem of Boise from the live shows to the opera's and classic movies you can never go wrong at the Egyptian Theater!

It is a really cool theater with character. Definitely worth going. Things to keep in mind
1. The seats are pretty tight & not a lot of leg room. My husband is 6'3" so it wasn't the most comfortable seating.
2. Cash only for the beer & merchandise.
3. It gets really warm in there so wear cool clothing
This will probably not keep us from going to this theater again. Just a few things to keep in mind.

It's awesome! Anyone who has been to this theatre knows what I'm talking about. If you don't, you must go see a movie here. The structure is one-of-a-kind and beautiful inside and out. The seating isn't "stadium style" like most movie venues are now but what The Egyptian lacks in modern upgrades makes up for in charm and character.
